Olivia Tobin (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate student at the University of Iowa studying mathematics, physics, and English. Olivia is fascinated by language, and her research interests include the interactions between language, identity, culture, and thought, with a particular interest in social perceptions of language variation. Outside of her academic pursuits, Olivia spends her time working at the University of Iowa libraries and playing alto saxophone in concert band. She also enjoys golfing with her dad, playing boardgames with her friends, and binge-watching TV. After completing her bachelor’s degree, Olivia hopes to pursue a graduate degree in sociolinguistics.
