Biography

Bremdellin Gabriel Ramos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese and English from the Federal University of Lavras, Brazil, with an emphasis on the literature and linguistics of both languages. They also earned a Master’s degree in Linguistic Studies from the Graduate Program in English at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Bremdellin’s research areas of interest include psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, phonetics, and language education. They specifically focus on understanding the effects of individuals’ social group identities on speech perception. Their recent work investigated the effect of different English varieties and the speakers’ race on Brazilian pre-service English teachers.
